CONFIRMATION: All appointments must be scheduled and verified prior to any on-site services being performed.
CANCELLATION: I charge a “Quarter-Hour Minimum” fee for any cancellation that occurs less than 12 hours before the scheduled on-site service, or if nobody is home at the time of the service call (unless there are emergency circumstances).
ADULT PRESENCE: An adult (18 years or older) must be present during the entire service call. If I arrive and no adult is present, or nobody is home, (or if the adult leaves prior to the service being completed), then I must also leave and you will be subject to service charges.
Before You Call
I only guarantee my work on Windows-compatible computers, hardware, and software. (I do have some knowledge on Mac and Linux computers, but I do not guarantee any work that I perform on Mac or Linux hardware or software, etc.)
You must be located within 20 miles of Great Barrington MA in order for me to serve you. All requests from outside of my service area will be ignored.
I don’t fix computers for third parties. You must own the computers that I am to work on, or you must be an authorized employee of the computer owner with the ability to grant me permission to work on the computers. If someone you know needs a computer fixed, have them contact me directly.
I do not accept computer drop offs at my location.
I do not repair any damages resulting from liquid spillage, impact damage, missing parts or any effects of neglect, misuse or abuse discovered during my initial inspection. These kinds of damages should be repaired by your computer’s manufacturer directly.
Preparing for a Service Call
I am not responsible for lost data. Please ensure you have backed up your important data prior to any service.
Any hardware devices, components, peripherals, software or cabling needed for the install must be purchased by you, I can provide you with links via email to purchase required items online, or consult you on what you should purchase at a store.
You must provide an adequate environment (power, space, safety, etc) for the scheduled service. You are responsible for providing power cords and surge protectors. You must have available all legally licensed software and media that may be required.
Any equipment being installed must be located in the general area where the install is taking place, I need access to the equipment so the service call can begin as scheduled.
If network connectivity is desired for multiple devices, you must supply a device (router, switch, etc) with an adequate number of ports to support the required number of devices. Your internet service connection must be activated and working properly prior to any network-related services I perform.
During the Service Call
You should be present to type in all passwords for security purposes. Keep track of any passwords or logins that I give you, and store them in a safe place. I am not responsible for any lost passwords or login credentials, and I do not keep these credentials for customers.
I can migrate your data from your old computer into a new computer, but I am not responsible for for any lost or corrupted data.
You are responsible for the removal of any packing materials or trash.
Limited Warranty
I warranty my workmanship for a period of 30 days from the service date. I am not responsible for issues due to setting changes, data loss, software or hardware upgrades or failures, internet connection issues, relocation, issues resulting from lightning strikes or electrical surges, viruses or spyware issues, or any other damages or misuse by users of the computers or equipment. My warranty expires immediately if another service person works on the computer or any of its related hardware, power, network or internet connections. Tutorial and consulting services are not covered under this warranty.
Limited Liability
When you hire me, you agree that my liability is limited, and that I will not be responsible for any loss of data or information, loss of income or business, loss of any tangible or intangible property or any personal damages resulting from any direct or indirect services that I have performed at your location or on your equipment, etc.
Other Products & Services
RECYCLING: When you give me items for recycling, you guarantee that you own the items to be recycled, or that you have full permission to recycle the items. Once you’ve given me items for paid or free recycling, you give up all claims to the items in question. Any stolen or otherwise illegal items will be your responsibility and will be given to the authorities.

If you have any questions, problems, or need to return or exchange items for refunds, you must do so through Amazon. Links and instructions should be included in any Amazon invoices that have been emailed to you after you’ve made purchases.
