Frequently Asked Questions

Answered by Owner, Arthur Dellea.

  • To ensure I provide the highest level of expert service, I specialize strictly in Windows PCs. By focusing on one system, I can stay ahead of all the latest Windows updates and security issues to give you the best possible support.

  • I do not perform physical hardware repairs on laptops, such as replacing screens, keyboards, touchpads, ports or internal components. Modern laptops are built with incredibly tiny, delicate parts that require highly specialized labor and often lack readily available, manufacturer-approved replacements. Because these intricate repairs can be costly and don't always guarantee a long-term fix, I have found that replacing an aging or broken laptop is the most reliable, problem-free way to ensure you have a dependable computer that just works.

  • It’s always best to contact your internet provider first, to verify that your service is working and your account is in good standing. If you still cannot access the internet then book an On-Site Visit.

  • I provide on-site Windows PC/IT services within a 25-mile driving radius of Great Barrington. My service area includes Southern Berkshire County MA, Northwestern Litchfield County CT, and Columbia County NY.

  • Yes, in-person appointments may be rescheduled or canceled when local forecasts indicate hazardous driving conditions. These precautions are primarily taken to avoid the risk of hydroplaning, which occurs when water, slush, or melting ice lifts a vehicle's tires off the pavement, resulting in a total loss of traction. This danger is particularly high when temperatures hover between 32°F and 45°F, as deep standing pools, thick slush, or hidden layers of ice can turn the roadway into a frictionless surface.

  • Absolutely. This is exactly what On-Site Visits are for. If the machine is "dead" or your Wi-Fi is acting up, I will come to your home within our 25-mile service area (covering Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Sheffield, and nearby towns) to diagnose the physical equipment.

  • Yes. Printing issues are often a mix of "physical" problems (cables/paper) and "software" problems (drivers). I usually handle these during an On-Site Visit to make sure the connection between your computer and the printer is solid.

  • This is a very common concern nowadays. During any of my sessions, I can check your system for "malware" and show you the red flags to look for in suspicious emails. If you are a VIP Support Plan subscriber, I provide the protection software for you and monitor it remotely to catch threats before they reach you.

  • Think of it like a "Triple-A" (AAA) membership for your computer. For one flat monthly fee, you get professional-grade antivirus, automatic maintenance to keep the PC fast, and—most importantly—all my labor is included. Whether you need a remote fix or a home visit, with a VIP Support Plan you don't pay a penny extra for my time.

  • Yes, that is a specialty of mine. With the New Computer Setup service, I don't just "plug it in." I move your cherished photos, documents, and even your "Favorites" from your old computer to the new one so that it feels like home the moment you sit down.

  • Yes, it is completely secure. We use a professional tool that requires your permission every single time I connect. You can see everything I am doing on your screen while we talk on the phone, and as soon as we hang up, the connection is broken. I cannot get back in unless you invite me again.

  • Not at all. My goal is to be your partner, not a lecturer. I pride myself on explaining things in plain English. If you have a question, I’ll take the time to answer it until you feel comfortable. I see every visit as a "teaching moment" to help you feel more confident with your PC.

  • Due to high demand I am unavailable for unscheduled phone calls. For a dedicated phone consultation, please book a Remote Session.
